Entebbe, the largest city of Uganda, was one the accommodation of government before the independence of 1962. It is the most commercial and industrial place of Uganda. Entebbe is to be found in Wakiso District, near Lake Victoria, to the southwest of Kampala, which is now the capital city of Uganda.

The Entebbe International Airport is the only major airport for national and international flights, which was inaugurated in 1947. It has a great importance from historical point of view. In 1952, Queen Elizabeth II heard the news of her father’s death, she was in Africa, and she left for England from this airport and after that she became the queen of England. In 3 and 4 July 1976, the Entebbe airport was the view the most intrepid terror campaign operati ons in history when a group of soldiers from an cream of the crop unit of the Israeli army freed over 100 prisoners subsequent a hijacking attempt by a set of German and Palestinian terrorists. From this anti terror operation, out of 248 passengers and 12 crew members, four passengers were killed and ten badly wounded.
